BBQ sauce is a bold combination of tangy, sweet, spicy, and smoky flavor. Its purpose is to improve the taste, and not to be so strong that it overpowers the main product, for example, meat.
It is not recommended to use tomato sauces during grilling. Natural sugars will caramelize and burn the surface of the meat at high temperatures. Barbecue sauce can be added at the very end of cooking or served on the table.
Once opened, store the barbecue sauce in the refrigerator, up to 3 months.
