GAEA extra virgin olive oil from the Kalamata region is certified as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO/P.D.O.) according to EU standards.
The product is entirely produced according to traditional recipes (prepared, processed and produced) within the Kalamata region and possesses and preserves its distinctive characteristics, a symbol of the highest quality.
The Kalamata region in the southwestern part of the Pelopennese, overlooking the Ionian Sea, is a huge olive grove, whose land gives birth to the world’s most sought-after olives variety „Koroneiki“. They are used solely for the production of this high category of cold-pressed olive oil. Fresh, green olives selected from the „Koroneiki“ variety provide an extremely well-balanced oil with a unique taste, rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, extracted directly from olives only by mechanical means.
